KAGC College graduation ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom of Federal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on May 9, 2017. It was the most anticipated event of the year, with students lining themselves with the best celebrations of being diploma and certificate holders in jubilation.

A number of representatives from the government ministry departments and our communities enlightened the graduation ceremony, including Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MoSTI) YB Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar bin Mohammad Diah; Dean in the School of Management Asia Professor Madya Dr Wan Sabri Wan Hussin; Academics Director of IPE Management School Paris, Professor Madya Chan Chee Seng; Principal Assistant Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MoTAC) Mr Chong Wai Kit; General Manager of CTI Malaysia Mr Richard Goh Hock Soon; and CEO of KAGC Madam Lily Ong as well as Academics Director of KAGC Michael Yee.

A series of diplomas and certificates were conferred to the graduans who have since completed their studies with KAGC in the following courses:-

  • Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management
  • Diploma in Green Technology Management
  • Professional Certificate in Tourist Guide
  • Professional Certificate in Cruise Management
  • Certificate in Intensive English

The glorious ceremony started with the recitation of the Quran, followed by the KAGC Graduation Ceremony opening declaration and welcoming remarks by CEO of KAGC Madam Lily Ong.

It was then that, the guests of the graduation ceremony as well as the graduans were entertained with a performance, which was a magnificent display of talent by KAGC’s own choir team, multiplied by the grandeur of the auditorium in which the ceremony took place.

The ceremony, of course, paid it due respects to the honorable guest Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar, Deputy Minister of MOSTI, who made a prompt but remarkable address about his life’s quests to pursue his dreams via education.

His life story soon became an advice to the graduands that graduation is not the end of a journey, but is instead a new and revolving chapter of life. He also stressed for the need of hard work and honesty.

“I congratulate you from the depth of my heart. I congratulate all of you on a job well done. But most of all, I congratulate you for all the hardships you’ve been through to attain where you are today, and hanging in there when times are tough,” Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar said.

123 students were conferred at the graduation ceremony with their respective diplomas and certificate programmes. The Best Diploma Programme Student was awarded to Lee Jia Hui from Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism; and Wan Yoke Chin from Professional Certificate in Tourist Guide.

The photography session ensued after the certificate conferment to all the graduands and a grand luncheon was served to the guests with a plethora of dishes – buffet style. Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar was then warmly sent off by Madam Lily and Mr Michael Yee.
